In Space...

"Space, the final frontier......" Vast and full of unexplored regions, even in our own galaxy, which could provide the answers to many of our questions and challenges back here on earth. Space supports life on earth by providing for the presence of satellites in low earth orbit.

The Island's STEM and engineering sector supports the Space industry by providing specialised, high quality optics and measurement devices used in both satellites and surface based equipment; as well as components used in the international space station.

The Island provides a hub for the international Space industry and you can find out more information by visiting https://www.spaceisle.com/ and https://iisc.im/

If there was an award for the item made on the Isle of Man that has travelled the furthest away it, would probably go to some optical flats in the Curiosity surface rover (currently on Mars).
