International Women in Engineering Day 23rd June 2018

23rd June 2018 marks International Women in Engineering Day (INWED). At Engineering IOM we encourage everyone to join and help celebrate women in engineering and inspire more girls and young women to consider engineering as a field of choice for their career.
Now in its fifth year, INWED18’s theme this year is #RaisingTheBar. There are schools, colleges, universities and organisations getting involved and demonstrating support for diversity in engineering.
Did you know that fewer than 11% of the UK’s engineering workforce is female? The Women’s Engineering Society (WES) believes in supporting and encouraging girls and young women in a career in engineering that would provide benefits in the form of a more diverse workforce and closing the skills gap in the industry. Big name companies like Amazon and NASA are getting involved, so you should too!
